Cells, tissues and organs
Cells: Cells are the building blocks of living things. Our system is composed of millions of cells, each having their very own function.
What do cells provide?
Cells take in nutrients from food and converts it into energy, carrying on special functions from there on.

Cells provide the structure for our body. Molecules in our body combine to form cells, which then forms tissues
Tissues are large groups of cells all doing the same job. The different kinds of tissues are classified into four groups: epithelial tissue, connective tissue, nerve tissue, and muscle tissue. Within each group are many kinds of tissue, but they are similar in the job they do.
Muscle tissues are composed of cells that have the special ability to shorten in order to produce movement of the body parts. The tissue is well supplied with blood vessels.
Nervous tissues are found in the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. They are responsible for coordinating and controlling many body activities. It stimulates muscle contraction, creates an awareness of the environment, and plays a major role in memory.
Connective tissues are tissues that protect and give structure to other tissues and organs in the body. Connective tissue also stores fat, helps move nutrients and other substances between tissues and organs, and helps repair damaged tissue.
Epithelial tissues are widespread throughout the body. They act as a shield forming the covering of all body surfaces, line body cavities and hollow organs, and are the major tissue in glands. They perform a variety of functions that include protection, absorption, filtration, and sensory reception.
An organ is a collection of tissues that function in a particular manner. The tissue is connected and constructed as a unit to serve a common function.
The lungs - Our lungs help us breathe. Without oxygen, we wouldn't be here today. The lungs are key organs in the human body, responsible for bringing oxygen into the body and helping get rid of waste gases with every exhale. It is however, possible to function with just one lung, as long as you're cautious.
The heart - The heart pumps blood around your body as your heart beats. This blood sends oxygen and nutrients to all parts of your body, and carries away unwanted carbon dioxide and waste products
The brain - the brain controls and coordinates actions and reactions, allows us to think and feel, and enables us to have memories and feelings which is what makes us human.
