- - - - Meanwhile, 100 years into the future, an organisation comprising of people who decided to stop evil using their powers rises. People such as Alexander Walsh, a ghost hunter, are part of the organisation, which is led by Darryl Haze. An alleged Chosen One, Hank Barrien, is selected by Haze and trained to purge demons and monsters. In response to a surge of magic, Alexander Walsh investigates a village to find Della Crumb being tormented by a demon named Obsidian. Alexander manages to fend off Obsidian and rescues Della.
        
        Hamilton and Morris discuss what to do and go on the run as ordinary people begin getting powers and taking revenge on people they dislike; Hamilton toys with the idea of getting powers but Morris is afraid of something so unnatural. Suddenly, the duo are attacked by a group of former classmates that want to take revenge on Hamilton for him showing them up in class. A mysterious person easily vanquishes the attackers. Meanwhile, back in the present, Darryl reveals that Obsidian was a fearsome demon with the ability to control metals. Obsidian had answered to an old group of demons called the Decimation Squad, led by Truculentes, the second most powerful demon in the world and currently at large. Hank Barrien decides to lead the mission to hunt down and kill Truculentes.
        
        Hamilton actively attempts to give himself and Morris powers but Morris refuses. Hamilton does it anyway, however, Morris pulls out and botches his end of the ritual, not getting powers. Hamilton gets control over lava and ice and fights off attackers.
        
        Hank, Alexander, Della and Becca Alta, an occultist, go to a village near where they found Della. The village is in ruins but Becca and Alexander confirm that the deaths cannot be more than a week old. Della's magic suddenly glitches, and reveals a demon hiding in a nearby house. They find a corpse which Hank identifies as Barry Hansen, a scientist who was sent on a team that went missing. They are suddenly attacked by several animals such as snakes, mosquitoes, flies, and bats, and flee with barely their lives.
        
        Obsidian intercepts them but Hank manages to singlehandedly subdue him, allowing Alexander to disarm him using a hamperer, which temporarily neutralises his magic. Obsidian reverts to his mortal form and is executed by the team. Before dying, he reveals that Becca had been on the demon's side and tells them to be wary of her. Hank opens a portal spell and brings them back to headquarters. Haze reveals that several teams have gone missing, and that they were all in various different missions. Deducing that Truculentes is attacking them, Hank, Haze and Becca lay a trap for Truculentes, by secretly following Alexander, Della and a group led by Harry Holt on a mission. Truculentes attacks them, using 'spikes of death' that he was famous for during the war and murdering several members of the team. Hank attacks Truculentes who swiftly overpowers him, but he ends up being defeated by Haze.
        
        Morris and Hamilton begin to track down their saviour and see that alleged 'good people' are being corrupted. Several people hunt down the duo, terming them unnatural and 'servants of the devil'
