humans are the cause of their own downfall
de-growth
concerned with the presence of time
we live in a work based society
transformation of the way we work and why we work
reconfiguring our works pracitces has environmental benefits as well
would increase the amount of leisure time we have allowing us to return to some of our more natural human processes, such as hunter gather societies
should invest time and money jobs and careers that are ecocentric
removal of "useless needs"
we cannot rebuild the economy through growth, if it is what has caused its downfall in the first place
stopping growth under capitalism is not realistic and virtually impossible
think beyond capitalism
doesnt fit within the political framework
de-civilization
humans are disconnected to nature
humans view nature as the other; root cause of our issues
concerned with space and place
reminded me of "the time machine": progression in time does not equate to societal progress, modernization in terms of technology and constantly advancing does not necessarily bring out the best of society
proud of the fact that we are the only species that has been fully capable of dominating nature
eco footprint equal to or smaller than 1960/70's (reduce by 75%)
ecotaxes
localization
increase leasure time through reduction in working hours
what does it mean to be a human?
what is human nature?
does it matter?
for many cultures, divide between human and nature does not exist
