You have the power
users have the option to make their account private or public. They have the option of choosing whether or not to accept someone's follow request. The user can change this setting whenever they would like. Instagram also allows users to filter/block any words they don't want to see on their comments, feed, etc. Users also have the option of selecting who they can receive messages from. If they only want to receive messages from their followers then they have the option to do so. They also have the ability to block bullies/trolls and new accounts they may create.
Algorithm = subjective, we are the product, companies study human behavior and build the algorithm around us and our behavior. The algorithm inserts content/posts that capture our attention and spark our interest/intellectual curiosity.

because you are familiar with these features on the app it's reasonable/logical to utilize them to avoid cyberbullying or any further bullying, also the user could just delete social media in general, but it's difficult due to addiction and social media being like a pacifier.
Social media is a pacifier to our boredness and picking up our phones to check notifications or just carrying it around with us everywhere is habitual
Personally, at first I started to take my phone everywhere because of the ''anxiety'' of missing an important call or text message,
(working on getting rid of this habit)
