Process of suturing
The doctor may remove any dead tissues to help the healing process. They will then pull the edges of the cut together and, for each stitch, loop thread through either side of the cut and tie a knot to hold the wound closed.
The set includes a procedural tray for washing or disinfecting an open wound, an underlay to keep the solution from soaking and contaminating the underlying surface of the trolley or couch, and a lithotomy drape to provide a sterile surgical field around the wound to be sutured.
