Theme
This poem is about the transience of human life, death, and mysteries surrounding them. The poet is looking at the photograph of her mother and missing her.
3 stages
1st stanza: The poet's mother is standing at the beach enjoying her holiday with her two cousins. She was 12 at that time.
2nd stanza: Takes us to twenty or thirty years later. The mother would laugh at the way she and her cousins were dressed up for the beach holiday.
3rd stanza: The poet remembers the sea holiday of her mother. She is sad as her mother is no more, she died twelve years back.
