Colours
-
Don't use primary colours that are bright such as red, blue and yellow. Use tones instead.
-
Images
-
Instead choose a few images which you can use to draw the attention from the target audience and as inspiring value.
You need to choose images which will inspire and encourage the viewer to read more, look more into it, and maybe travel there themselves.
Logo+Slogon?
-
Having a slogon underneath the logo would give the audience a more of an idea of what your website is about.
Have a logo that has something to do with the website. If you do not have a suitable name of the website to do with the subject then for the logo you should add objects(anywhere we roam had footprints).
This is so the viewers would associate your website with travel blogging
