what are the main differences between LIC and hic responses
HIC
the HIC had more money so they could provide aid bye creating pop up hospitals
they could provide temporary housing wich would not be possible in and LIC
HICS would also have beter emergency services to help with the earthquake
the building in an HIC would also be more stable
LIC
LICs have little money so they cannot provide things like food and water to every one and they cannot give people to stay
there buildings would also be less secure so most of the buildings would be destroyed
support from other cuntrys would have to be imported which would take some time
people in and HIC could be educated to have a heir chances of surviving a earth quack
how did newzeland respond to the earthquake in February 2011
International aid was provided (around $6 to $7 million).
Aid workers from charities such as the Red Cross came to help.
300 Australian police officers were flown in.
Temporary housing was provided.
Pop-up hospitals were set up which would be a short term but effective response.
A new government taskforce was created to help deal with future earthquakes.
Areas were zoned to assess damage.
People are now being educated across New Zealand to do earthquake drills.
The government of New Zealand is trying hard to raise money so that people can build homes and structures which could withstand earthquakes.
