Support worker roles and responsibilities
Providing daily reports, protecting confidential information, as well as supporting Tangata Whaiora to stay independent by providing things such as personal care, medication management, mobility assistance, bowel care/urinary continence care, and home management.
Helping people to clean, wash, dress, do housework, and do grocery shopping, as well as helping them prepare food, plan meals, and get organised.

Being on hand to guide and advise, listen and understand, build confidence and self-esteem.
Assisting with accessing community facilities and taking part in activities such as swimming, dance class, cinema, theatre trips and football.

Working with health professionals to support any mobility equipment, medical needs, including making and attending any necessary appointments or administering medication.
Budgeting, money management and financial support.
Following a dedicated person-centered support plan, including updating Nourish system, key worker sessions, goal setting such as avoiding drugs and ‘talk time’.
