Main goal: normalize pt temp use blankets

IV admin of thyroid hormone replacement

Life threatening emergency
Extreme hyperthyroidism state
Main goal: stabilization until hospitalized
PABC: make sure patient Is comfortable open airway, maintain oxygen, monitor vitals
EMS: will administer IV fluids

Fever up to 108 degrees

Restlessness
Confusion
Anxiety
Psychosis
GI symptoms
Increased systolic BP
Tachycardia
Widened pulse pressure
Arrythmias
Myxedema symptoms
Hypothermia <95 degrees

Cool dry skin with nonpitting edema
Bradycardia
