when we first met June Osborn her personal schemas were quiet, boring and casual, she wore a lot of sweatpants and pullovers. which obviously allowed her not to stand out. but her personal schema changed when she got to gilead, she wored clothes that made her stand out and she became a voice for all the handmaids

INORDER TO UNDERSTAND JUNE CHARACTER AS OFFERED YOU MUST UNDERSTAND HER COMMANDER'S WIFE SERENA, A PURE NARSISTIC who is selfish, and directly inspired Gilead, it was Serena joy's books about the declining birth rate that made Gilead what it is. She doesn’t want freedom of choice for all women, she wants it for women like herself who want a child at someone's else expense and freedom. I think this aspect is interesting, it easier to say a man might have caused Gilead but to see a woman force other women give birth is just wild.

one thing June's best friend Moira has always been rebellious, she is the fiesty best friend that June envies ( in a good way). although Moira becomes a handmaid as well due to her sexuality, she is the first to escape in Gilead because of her fiery spirit. even in gilead moira is still moira. she kills one of the commanders and steals their car to enter Canada. June envied that she compared herself to Moira, she wanted to be brave and fierce like her to escape as well. she needed Moira around to encourage her to leave Gilead.
