Introduction to Vectors
Scalar quantity
Is a thing that has nothing to do with spatial direction .
Examples:
Temperature
Lenght
Mass
Charge
Volume
Vector quantity
Magnitude (size) and Direction.
Involves:
Velocity
Acceleration
Force
Displacement
Momentum
Vector quantity
Provide only Magnitude and Direction
Scalar quantity
It doesn’t involve spatial direction
Vector
An object that has Magnitude and Direction
Direction
The measure of the angle it makes with a horizontal
line.
Magnitude
Is its size, or length.
Resultant
Is the single vector that has the same effect as the other
vectors taken together.
Displacement
How far out of place an object is
Distance
How much ground an object has covered
