pXRF sampling and methods
Going for Mining Cu/Zn 30:30:30:60 with CRM measurements every 15 samples (i.e. every 45 readings)
Will aim for 600 samples analysed via pXRF
Selected samples and fabrics to be closely representative of overall fabric divisions of anaysed sherds
Need to catalogue Darvill sherds and match fabrics up to RB sherds to get to next step to select which sherds to analyse
Prep summary flow chart and full chapter describing choices made in pXRF methods and fully describing method
Chase down Derek and double-check pXRF method with him prior to beginning analyses
Get method summary written up and sent round before beginning analysis
HE response
Remove paragraph mentioning that end of PhD is in sight as they won't care and it may discolour opinion of request
Be more explicit about selection process for sample locations, state that they have been placed to be less visible to public when walking around
Get it done and sent to supervisors alongside HE response form
Very normal to have to give a response as I am proposing to drill a unique world heritage site! Imagine if this was Stonehenge
Also cut HE peeps some slack for not having read original proposal in detail as they probably had 10 minutes to read this and have a billion other things on their mind
Registering Cliveden
Chase up Dean and RDS admin to check if Cliveden have been added to the system yet
Better to get a purchase order in ASAP, as if you do not need it is discarded but if you do then you waste time waiting for it to be granted
Get a purchase order
Once HE response submitted, fill out an extension request
