the buildings were made our of scrp materials, most up the side of the hills with no reinforcements and the comncrete was made out of salt water so so it corrdes away easily.
this also mens that whne the building and homes colapse it is a pancake effect of the houses folding down onto one anouther.

you move into a door frame, move away from anything that might fall, have a plan for when an earthqauke might happen. And watch for when an eathquake is due or coming.
