Types of nozzles
Round Nozzle - The round nozzle has a plain round opening. It is the most used nozzle by the bakers around the world. You can do writing on the cake, cover borders, and much more with a round nozzle.
Star Shaped Nozzle - The star-shaped nozzle also has two types; open and close. They are used to create curve swirls on cupcakes. Closed star nozzles are mostly used to create detailed swirls.
Basketweave Nozzle - Basketweave nozzle has a rectangular shaped opening on the tip. It has jaggery or cutwork on one side and plain on the other side. As the name suggests, it is used to create a basketweave design on the cake.
Drop Flower Nozzle - Using a drop flower piping nozzle is the easiest and quickest way to decorate your cake with a beautiful flower design. The number of openings on the tip of the nozzle will tell you how much petals will the flower have.
Multi Opening or Grass Nozzle - This piping nozzle has a closed tip with multiple holes in it. And as the name suggests, it is used to create grass or make hairs of the character on the cake.
Leaf Nozzle - Leaf Nozzles have a V-shaped opening on the tip, but it is better to call it double V-shaped. Squeezing out the icing from the Leaf nozzle will give edible leaves. Size and shape of the leaves can be changed by changing the way to use the nozzle.
Petal Nozzle - As the name defines, petal nozzles can be used to create petals. Bakers also use different petal nozzles with flower nails to add more detail in the design.
Special Nozzle - Special nozzles are only used to create a specific design. The tip of special nozzles has cutwork of a particular type which can produce only one type of icing design.
