Marking Criteria
Document evidence of research and analysis of trends and practices in visual communication during the relevant time period
Identify the impacts of key historical milestones on design practices during the relevant period
Conduct a critical analysis and record an opinion of a design piece from the relevant period as well as any feedback from peers on that opinion
Document, from a contemporary viewpoint, how the technology of the relevant period impacted design, list research sources via a bibliography and evidence intellectual property issues and legislation were considered and adhered to in the process
Produce 3 well-developed A4 concept drawings of posters for the assigned movie, displaying in each a direct link to an element or principle as used during the relevant design period
Scan all concept drawings and document feedback from 2 peers on each
Provide evidence of teacher's approval of selected concept
Consider and adhere to intellectual property issues and legislation; do not use any imagery or likeness from the original movie poster in the creation of a new poster
Based on feedback and teacher's approval, select the best concept and refine, including appropriate movie details
Produce all own imagery apart from logos and images sourced from public domain websites
Use Adobe Creative Suite to produce a final A3, CMYK, 300dpi movie poster and create a print-ready PDF
Provide a smallest file size PDF of EVD containing all information listed above

Aim of the Assessment
The aim of this assessment is to create a new poster for an existing movie in the style of a historical design period. I'm hoping this project will help me get more comfortable designing with styles other than my usual while developing a deeper knowledge of my assigned period (Avant Garde).
