Raphael, Rat, Gardo, Father Julliard - Coggle Diagram
Raphael
-
He's very good friends with Gardo, as they were born on the same sheet and Gardo might as well be Raphael's older brother.
-
Raphael's family is very poor, and they don't have toilet paper or running water. Despite this, Raphael seems to be thankful about the small things in life.
-
Raphael is very kind because when he found the wallet, he shared half of his money with Gardo.
-
Even though he lives in a very poor area, he still has hope that he will find something. Even though he knows what he will find, there's always something that makes him hopeful.
-
Rat
We can tell that Rat is an orphan, because Raphael says that he has no family members, and he's been living with the rats.
-
Rat is so quiet that nobody really notices him, and that's why Raphael and Gardo hid the bag with Rat.
His real name is Jun-Jun, but since he's been living with the rats for so long, and he's grown to look like one, his nickname is now Rat and that's what everybody calls him.
Rat has been living at Central Station for almost a year, so that's why he knows what the key is and where it goes.
Raphael feels empathy for Rat because many of the kids tease and throw stuff at him, and he has no family.
Rat always gets teased by the other rubbish boys, and they always throw rubbish at him.
Gardo
Even though Gardo is older than Raphael than a few hours, he still seems to act older by a lot. Maybe it's because he's had more beatings...?
Many people described Gardo as serious and kind of bossy, but Raphael doesn't seem to mind.
Raphael is very good friends with Gardo, they even eat together (most of the time).
Gardo and Raphael were born on the same mat, but hours apart.
Father Julliard
-
Father Julliard is a generous man, because whenever Rat has nothing to eat, Father Julliard will make him something.
He seems to be very direct with his thoughts, but he doesn't mean it in a mean way.
Father Julliard has a strong sense of justice, and honours Pascal by sitting on the stairs quietly with his students.
