Thursday ---- Jolene is a new friend Ware met at an abandoned church while trying to escape from his daily REC activities.
Sunday Sep 26----- Turned out Jolene loves planting stuff and so in the lot behind the abandoned church, she made her own garden. We don't know much about her personal life because we only see her from Ware's perspective but she has something going on.....
I'm starting to wonder what her home life is like.....
She said something about her aunt not wanting her child. But that's all I know about her home life for now.
Home life is absolute trash.
Oct 2- NOOOO HER MOTHER ABANDONDED HER AND LEFT JOLENE WITH AN ALCOHOLIC AUNT :(
Monday Sep 27
Jolene isn't letting Ware go with her to the weird place where she gets all her compost off. Why isn't she letting him go with her?

Thoughts so far and where I am in the book:
The name of the book is "Here in The Real World" I am reading 25 pages per day and I started out with it Thursday, which means I have read 100 pages (btw today is Sunday and Carola lent me this book). I don't know where the story is headed and it is very confusing but I am enjoying it, I'm curious to see what it means by "here in the real world" though.

So today I reached page 130. So far, Ware is still trying to help Jolene out with the lot behind the destroyed church besides REC and protect the garden from the birds. They randomly deiced to plant papayas and build a huge 10 foot wall to protect the garden from the birds. I'm guessing that this story is a kinds of "slice of life" genre themed book. Its quite interesting. Also, Ware told Jolene about how her grandmother got hurt and had to get her hip bones replaces because she fell and Jolene asked how she fell. She asked that because people don't just fall all of a sudden. So now, Ware is asking himself what might have really happened to Big Deal (the grandmother's nickname). OH AND ALSO A WEIRD MAN PULLED OVER IN FRONT OF THE CHURCH AND PLACED A SIGN THAT SAID THAT THERE WAS GOING TO BE AN AUCTIONNN!! I'm still very lost about where this whole thing is headed towards but the book is nice.
Ware is asking himself why Jolene isn't letting him go with her. I wonder if it has to do with her home life or something?

I read 25 more pages today, meaning I'm at 155. Um so Ware decided to follow Jolene to the weird place she got her compost from. She didn't find her at first but then he saw her from a distance eating food with an old lady.
After that, Ware found his uncle (uncle Cy) at that weird store and Ware showed him his garden behind the church he had built with Jolene. He asked Cy to please not tell his parents about it because they would make him go back to REC and he hated it. Uncle Cy agreed and gave Ware a camera to document his whole "gardening" and "castle" experience.

I just read 23 pages today but it's fine. Im at page 178 now. So apparently Jolene mentioned something to Ware about her Aunt not wanting her kid? That's all we know about her home life right now but I'm getting a feeling that her personal life is really messed up because Ware has never seen her go home after he leaves the garden. They also went together to visit Ware's grandmother at the hospital. They have a hidden reason why but I still don't get to the part where they tell us.
Thursday Sep 30
I read 25 pages again today. I'm reading 25 pages each day so that by Monday I'll be able to finish the book. A total of 11-12 days. Today, Ware and Jolene stayed with Big Deal for a few hours, just talking and the grandmother told Ware to ask Jolene about her home life. He was scared. The next day, they met at the lot and went to a bar that was close to aks permission to use their hose to fill the moat with water. They filled it up and got "reborn" (they wanted to do like a weird church thing). It started raining and they both got under a weird table that was around. That's when Ware asked Jolene about her home life and she said that she lived with aunt because her parents died. Her aunt was an alcoholic and she planted papayas and gardened to sell them and use that money to pay the rent because her aunt spent all the rent's money on alcohol. Jolene's aunt also beat her up...
Oct 1 but it's really Oct 2- I forgot to update coggle yesterday....
Saturday Oct 2
I read around 50 pages today B) So basically The moat got destroyed by the cranes ;( But they managed to fix it again. Also, I think that maybe Ware fell in love with Jolene! That would be cute ;) Ashley helped to fix the lot too so I don't know what's happening with her. Big Deal told Ware that she had diabetes and in a few weeks, she was moving in with him, meaning Ware would have to sleep in the porch :V Then Ware and Jolene hung out and Jolene opened up a bit more about her childhood.
Wednesday October 6
I read 58 pages today. I was supposed to finish it by Sunday for the surgery on Monday but today I managed to finish it. It was a splending book. I usually don't like reading things other than romances or fantasy, but this book taught me the real meaning of persistance, loyalty, and what it meants to be a hero. They were able to save the cranes. Who knows if the lot was saved but they managed to reach their objective.
I'm guessing that the genre of this book is just slice of life.
