What Happens After Death?

Heaven

Hell

Judgement

Purgatory

Resurrection

Heaven is the ideal in Christianity, it where a Christian will go if their life on Earth has been judged to be good and all their sins have been forgiven.

‘And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them and each person was judged according to what they had done’ -Rev. 20:12

Christians believe that when they die they will be judged on their actions while on Earth, the result of this judgement will determine wether they go to Heaven, Hell or Purgatory

Purgatory is the inbetween. A mid-ground between Heaven and Hell. It is where people who are not quite pure enough for Heaven, but whose sins are not so unforgiveable that they should go to Hell go. It a place of purification and when a soul is deemed pure enough, it exits Purgatory and enters Heaven

A spiritual state of mind where your soul lives on seperate from your body

It is believed to be a version of paradise

Purgatory is primarily a Roman Catholic or Orthodox Christian belief

In Christianity, Hell is where damned souls go. People who have comitted an unforgiveable sin while on Earth or who are otherwise unable to seek repentance. After judgement Hell is where the souls who are judged to have led truly awful lives are sent

Throughout history Hell has been depicted as a place full of fire

Some Christians don't believe in Hell because they believe that a belevolent God would not eternally damn the souls of his creation

Hide's Value Of Soul Making

One of the core beliefs of Christianity is that of Resurrection. Jesus' cruxifiction and eventual resurrection has instilled the belief of eternal life in Christians, a life that isn't continued on Earth, but in Heaven or Hell after death.

The Parable Of The Sheep & The Goats

Jesus uses this parable to demonstrate what judgement will be like. He tells the story of a Shepard seperating his Sheep from his Goats. Deeming the Sheep useful for wool and meat and the goats useless.
