- - - - Aptitude is a learning potential, while achievement is a learning outcome.
        
        This means that learners will vary in terms
        of their aptitude for different aspects of language learning. Some learners will have well-developed
        phonological acuity and will be good mimics. Others will be good at writing or grammar.
        
        Comment: It is important to know that every learner has aptitude in learning a second language, so you can focus on what matters and improve their skills. One thing I learned is that you must never judge the proficiency of a classroom full of kids based on the majority, because some of them are just too shy to speak, or some skipped an important part of their development, such as the acquisition of gross and fine skills.
  - - - Complications in finding pedagogically appropriate solutions to problems.
        
        What might work for learners at one stage will not necessarily work with learners at another stage.
        
        Not possible to adopt a blanket approach.
        
        Strategy training might be introduced into the language curriculum.
        
        It is the school’s responsibility to teach
        learners how to learn, i.e. to equip them with strategies they can use outside school. (Pinter, 2006: 99)
        
        Comment: learners are unique, and the strategy adopted vary from each other. What might work for most students might not work for a part of them, even at the same stage. Being able to identify that results in effective solutions, in the case of young learners, according to my experience, teaching how to learn is a process that goes beyond the relationship between teacher and student, also includes their parents, as key to teach how to learn. And for this, parents might continue to work, if possible, subjects seen inside the classroom, such as: vocabulary, listening skills and even conversations.
- - - - The recognition of work with others as
        an authentic feature of real life performance
        
        all learning occurs naturally as process
        
        cyclical nature of the curriculum, as it states that all new learning is built on knowledge previously constructed
        
        Comment: All these points must be present during class, especially to kids. Since we do not work with words, general plannings.
        We must be sure that learning occurs empirically, even when we are doing simple things, such as washing hands - and teaching the reasons of it.
  - - - Collaborative work
        
        Due to their young age and short life experience and to the lack of authentic use of English in their lives, most performances were role play games about diverse topics the students proposed, which allowed for the introduction and practice of a varied repertoire of language they were interested in learning. Reading stories and learning and interpreting songs were equally successful performances.
        
        Comment: Using imagination is a good and fun way of teaching kids. It goes beyond what is mainly stablished. Where I work, we use songs, role play, games, practical classes such as cooking classes, gardening - everything in English, trying to create immersion and real situations. The kids love all the activities, and they feel motivated to study. And most important, kids get to choose as well most of the activities.
