What he did in the revolution and middle life
After being elected to the Bolshevik Central Committee in April 1917, Stalin helped Lenin to evade capture by authorities and ordered the besieged Bolsheviks to surrender to avoid a bloodbath.
Lenin didn't want Stalin to succeed him after the revolution because he insulted his wife
Stalin was in exiled while Russia was in WW1 and was unfit to join
Death
Stalin died of a stroke on march 5 1953,aged 74,and could probably have been saved by his guards, but were to afraid to go into his room
Tricked the other Bolsheviks into thinking Lenin's funeral was at another date, so he was the only Bolshevik there, increasing the admiration for Stalin people had
Purged everyone who might have posed a threat to him
Got his main political rival, Trotsky exiled
Five year plans
Stalin wanted to industrialise Russia, so he set specific goals for each sector of industry and agriculture for every five years
The goals for each sector was decided by Stalin and the GOSPLAN, who's job were to make the goals, this lasted from 1928 to 1991
The five year plans also lead to the construction of giant cities in Russia
Things he did for the people of Russia
Citizens in Russia got free healthcare.
Stalin tried to make education and school free and compulsory, but failed, but schools were still very available
Women had more jobs available to them then western women, with roughly 50% of the workforce being women.
Collectivisation
The farmers rebelled, especially the middle class farmers and between 5 to 10 million people died
widespread famine happened all over Russia for roughly a year
Farmers had to give over their land to the government so that everyone can share it.
