As you can see, there is a positive correlation between mass and BMR in both mammals and birds (Figures 1 & 2). The data also indicates a negative correlation between mass-specific BMR and body mass in both mammals and birds (Figures 3 & 4). From graphs 5, 6, and 7, we can see that mass, BMR, and mass-specific BMR are not equal in birds and mammals. In these graphs, we also observe that mammals have both a higher body mass and BMR than birds do, but birds have a higher Mass-specific BMR.
