CHAPTER 17
Movement of heat
- thermal energy always flows from a region of higher temperature to a region of lower temperature
- heat transfer of thermal energy occurs only when there is a difference in temprature
Radiation
- transfer of thermal energy in the form of waves from one pace to another
- it does not need a medium
Convection
- transfer of heat from one place to another by the movement of fluid ( liquids or gases)
Conduction
- process of heat transfer through a medium or material without any movement of the medium or material
Temperature
- degree of hotness and coldness of an object
