Example from my poem: "One more toy, one more dress, one more shoe"
In my poem, I used the power of repeating 3 words/ 3 ideas many times, but in this example, I used it to captivate the audience's attention.
Alliteration
Example from my poem:
"blinded him, bound his mind, and he became a bondservant to his wants"
I've used alliteration by repeating the sound of 'b'. I've done this to get the audience's attention. Alliteration gives a very pleasing sound to the audience's ears getting the attention of the readers

Cliffhanger
Example from my poem: "Every time I slept, I didn’t think of what I could have, or what I wanted, Instead, this realisation and a journal made all the difference. "
I decided to leave the poem on a cliffhanger, as it leave the audience thinking. It makes them wonder how a journal makes all the difference.

Example from my poem: "I died of embarrassment - thinking about how I hadn’t recognised this till now. "
I've used hyperbole to show my audience the seriousness and extent to which I was feeling bad when I realised the importance of gratitude.
