Shield Volcano
This is the most known volcano that is always found on constructive plate boundaries. It has gentle slopes with layers of lava through them, gentle eruptions and runny fast-moving lava. Lava flows creating layers on volcano.

Dome Volcano
These are explosive eruptions where lava and ash comes out but lava doesn't flow very far; this means that it creats layers of ash and lava with steep sides and thick lava.

These have steep sides that have been created by fine ash and cinder because when erupting the ash cloud comes first creating a layer of ash. before the magma. It is mound on destructive plate boundaries and are more explosive bacause tension is being created in the crust.

It has a crack in the ground (volcanic or not), the volcano is not explosive and is a gentle volcano.

Composite Volcano
Very explosive eruption which destroys everything, the pressure builds up inside and then explodes the top off which creates an ash cloud of rock which then falls and settles, lava spills out and then creates layers of ash and lava, steep sides

Mt. St. Helens
Caldera Volcano
Caldera is a composite volcano, it's explosive reastion blows the top of it which creates a bowl shape which is usually filled with water and is steep sided. It is found on destructive plate boundaries. It has smaller eruptions.
