About 774 million adults are illiterate and two-thirds of them are women. And about 123 million youth are illiterate and 61% are girls.
Illiteracy is most prevalent in developing countries. South Asia, the Arab world, and Sub-Saharan Africa have the highest illiteracy rates, ranging from 40 to 50 percent. Illiteracy rates in East Asia and Latin America range from 10% to 15%, while illiteracy rates in developed countries are only a few percent.

Sexual assault and rape are deeply traumatic experiences that have long-term consequences for the victim's health and well-being. The victims of intimate partner abuse are more likely to have alcohol problems, be depressed, or get HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Globally, there are about 736 million women, or almost 1 in 3 have been violent sexual assault and rape. 30% of women aged 15 and older. And there are about 120 million girls have been forced to do intercourse or another kind of forced sexual activity at some point in their lives.
Worldwide, South Africa had the highest rate of rape. However, the government of South Africa is working to address this anomaly.

Less than 40 percent of countries offer girls and boys equal access to education and only 39 percent of countries have equal proportions of the sexes enrolled in secondary education.
In some countries, women have less chance to learn than men.
This issue is most likely happen in Afghanistan when the Taliban took control of the country and gender disparities disadvantaging girls in primary education persist in Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia.
