How phones helped improve human lives
How phones have created more problems/or has harmed humans.
Phones are a distraction to many people, and it can be dangerous too. Many accidents on roads happen when the driver is distracted by using their phone. People using their phone while crossing a road cannot check if the road is safe to cross and as a result they get in accidents too.
Using phones can be addictive, and will cause you problems such as not sleeping at night, and using your phone everywhere, which means you are always distracted and cannot be productive.
Using our phone regularly will also damage our eyesight, even though there are ways in which we can prevent that. Our eyes would be damaged by eye strain, and the light emitted from phones (and other electronic devices) has a negative impact on them.
The important thing about phones is that they have a function of a flashlight. So if you are somewhere during nighttime and you forgot to bring a flashlight, phones will be very useful since the light is bright enough to let you see for a far distance.
On a phone, there could be software's that you could download for example Grab, which can help you contact a driver that can drive you to your desired location. Another example is GPS, it helps you show the way to any location you would want to be at. It will also show you the approximate time and distance it would take to reach your location.
Phones help people communicate from different locations. Examples of social media would be WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. You can connect with people using internet, and can talk with your friends, family and strangers all around the globe!
Buying smartphones that are good-quality is very expensive. A phone in 2021 now costs between 1000-6000MYR, which is as much as some people's monthly income. A lot of people regularly buy phones when they first get launched, which of course is a lot of money wasted.
Phones could help students gain knowledge. When doing a project students can go on the internet to get information. With either the internet or using data, it can be very useful to search something up, because it only takes a few seconds, and is free.
Social media (which can be installed on a phone as an app) has led some of us to lose our social skills, and people may find it harder to communicate with people in real life. This is because they don't know how to act, as when communicating online, there are only words and no facial expressions, etc.
In case of an emergency, there is also a feature that does not need the internet, it can make emergency calls whenever you like without a sim card.
During the pandemic, we are usually stuck at home with nothing to do, so most of us have turned to our phones for entertainment. Using our phone is also unlimited because there are millions of apps, videos, and things for you to discover.
Due to the convenience of our phones, available to us right in our pocket, we have become more dependent on them and will feel unsafe without our phones.
Some people simply don't have time to cook at their house by themselves. That's why people invented apps that deliver food like FoodPanda, Grab Food, McDonald's, KFC.
