Statement of Inquiry - Our natural resources allow us to understand the complexity of our planet earth

Deforestation
If we look at the "mares de morros" in the coast of Brazil now and 1000 years ago, there are many natural resources that are missing, and that aren't there.
Because of these issues all around the world, I want to cause the least negative footprint I can, and I can do this by using recycled materials.
I want to incorporate the idea of recycling and reusing material in my artwork through my canvas, so I could use an old cloth instead of buying paper, stapled into an old wooden frame.
Pollution
Humans have been changing and modifying the environment since the beginning of their existence on earth. Even the smallest details of a landscape (from the absent trees of the tropical rainforest to the polluted waters of the Atlantic ocean) reflect our footprints in the earth.

The balance of nature
Harmony with nature, rather than profiting from it.
I want my painting to mirror the harmony and peace that nature gives us by incorporating natural elements (by imprinting leaves on the paper, as an example), as well as elements that are from nature, but have been somewhat modified in order to be used more efficiently by humans (aluminium, beads, paper tissues for examples) that wouldn't be as useful to humans in its natural form.

A world in which corrupt and avarice systems don't take over and instead, focus on give and take relationship with the world around them.

Natural resources
Understanding the world
All of the materials humans were able to extract and ultimately poses were ALL found, in their raw form, in nature. Nature provides to us. It gives us the ability, or better, the possibility to manipulate it and create knowledge of the world with it.
Fridges that keeps our food cold and microwaves that make our food hot, were all, at a point in time, materials found in the nature. Nature helps us create more knowledge and solve problems - but it can sometimes create problems.

I've always loved the anatomy of plants and natural elements. I think that they represent their evolution and struggle to become what they are today. The way they adapted to solve their problem - this can kind of help us humans when solving problems we face, and instead of following a industrialized path
