Filtration
they can do so by using a filter medium that allows the fluid to pass through but not the solid
Examples: separating sand and water, brewing coffee etc
Filtration is a method of separating solids from liquids
Evaporation
it is used to separate a soluble solid from a liquid.
Example: copper sulfate is soluble in water – its crystals dissolve in water what happens in evaporation, is that the water evaporates away leaving solid copper sulfate crystals behind.
Evaporation is also a method to separate solids from liquids
Chromatography
It is used to separate mixtures of colored or non colored substances that are soluble in the same solvent
is a method for separating dissolved substances from one another ( Means color writing)
simple distillation
example: you can separate the mixure of salt and water my the process of distillation it is a method for separating the solvent from a solution. this is because the water evaprorates ( because it has a lower boiling point then salt)
separating a liquid from solution ( solvent from solution)
Fractional distillation
Example, they use fractional distillation is used to separate crude oil into fractions with different boiling point
Fractional distillation is a process used to operate a mixture of liquids that have different boiling points (separating a mixture of liquids)
