        As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to attack Israel. lBut the LORD thundered with a mighty sound that day against the Philistines and threw them into confusion, and they were defeated before Israel. 11

        But they asked for a king to reign over them, when the Lord their God was their king
        
        if you and your king follow the Lord, your God, and obey his voice and serve Him, that would be well.
        
        if not obeying the voice of and rebelling the commandments of the Lord
        
        the hand of the Lord would be against you and your king
        
        Samuel testified it by asking the Lord to send thunders and rain that day in the harvest time
        
        do not turn aside after empty things that cannot profit or deliver, for they are empty
        
        the Lord will not forsake His people, because of His great name
