Describe the formation of the Gospels, beginning with the preaching by the Apostles until they were set into the New Testament as part of the canon.
Stage 2- This stage is considered the oral tradition. The disciples and Apostles started teaching, preaching, and spreading the Good News. The Good News was that Jesus is the son of God and that he is the savior.
Stage 3- This stage is called the Evangelists. The reason why it is called Evangelists is that they arranged and shaped collections of knowledge and notations. Therefore, this guided the writing of the Gospels.
Stage 1- This was the period of Jesus and his life. The foundation of the four gospels was built based on the teachings and spiritual lessons of Jesus.

Canon means a standard or a rule of measuring and it has to fit a certain criteria. Such as relevance to the church, widespread, written by Apostle or his colleagues, and orthodox
Some Gospels that were mentioned in this week's material were Gospel of Maricon, Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Mani, etc. The reason why these Gospels were not chosen to be in the Canon because they did not fit the criteria that was needed
