Network topology
Bus Topology
A bus topology is made up of a main single cable with terminators at both ends. It is a shared communication medium that makes the backbone of the system. Computers and other devices including the server is connected into this linear cable for communication.

It does not require much cabling, so it is very cost effective

Ring Topology
In a Ring topology everyone workstation has a neighbor for communication purposes. All the messages travel through a ring in the same direction either clockwise or anti clockwise.

Star Topology
Star topology is the most common used of topology. In such a setup all workstation are connected to a central called a hub. Any message is sent first goes through the center hub and is redirected from the center to the workstation.
