hatches - open spaces within the boat that you can store your belongings in to keep mostly dry, typically covered with a lid
rudder - positioned on the end of the boat, used for steering and controlled by foot pedals within the cockpit

deck lines - lines that run from the bow to the stern of the boat used in rescues when someone is the water they can grab onto their own boat or others

sheerline - lines that are on the deck of the boat, used to keep gear strapped on to the top of the boat

keel - a steering system that is retractable, once the keel is deployed it is a fixed prop

hip pad - helps to stabalize the paddler, blocks that can be placed beside the paddlers seat
back rest - a pad behind the paddelers back that should not have a lot of weight placed against it. it is there to help give support but most weight should be self held by the paddlers core
thigh grips - pads that rest above the paddlers knees and can be adjusted depending on the size of the paddeler
deck - the top of the kayak, front and back
