With the dukes and marquesses or "Zhou Kings" no longer had a "familial" relationship with the king the Zhou Kings and their dynasty began too thin. Which lead to the Quanrong barbarians killing King You.
The Mandate of Heaven was a doctrine that stated there could only be one leader of China at a time.
The second half of the Zhou dynasty was called Eastern Zhou. It was characterized by an accelerating collapse of royal authority, although the king's ritual importance allowed over five more centuries of rule
The Eastern Zhou 1st lead to Late Spring and Autumn period where the dukes and marquesses would have war amongst themselves but in the late spring and autumn period these wars had rules. The dukes and marquesses followed a code of chivalry and would meet at a designated.
With no King, the nobles met and a marques grandson declared King Ping.
The second thing the eastern Zhou caused was the Warring States Era. This happened after the Late Spring and Autumn period, this was when the Dukes and marquesses no longer used rules. The States were in warfare, but while in warfare this period was recognized for the fact that government and military reforms and consolidation.
One of the more recognizable reforms being civil duties that were brought on because of the war. Such as Tax collectors and Mail men, people who counted how many people their were in the state.

The holding control over another state that desires their own state, is a trait that has been shown through China's major conquering ages. The fact that modern day china still has this trait only shows that in order for China to be what it is today there was a need for conquesting.
China's has a unique up bringing, they are a country made on conquest. Much of their history is full of conquest. They are one of the few to develop fast while contesting or being takeover
