A statement that describes something in a way that make it seem less important, serious than it really is

Antithesis
The juxtaposition of contrasting ideas in balanced phrases.
eg. No pain, no gain.
Paradox
A paradox combine two contradictory ideas in a way that, although illogical, still seem to make sense.
eg. the more you give, the more you get
