HARD PALATE
Characteristic:
placed at the top in the mouth
Function:
to provide space for the tongue to move freely and supplies a rigid floor to the nasal cavity.
PHARYNX
Characteristics:
*can be called as throat, and it is placed behind the tongue, the pharynx is as large as it can get.
Function
plays an important role in delivering speech. It provides an enclosed space that allows the speech muscles to initiate sound and helps us to pronounce the better.
LIPS
Characteristic:
*Soft, moveable, opening for food intake into our body, articulation of sound and speech. Boo
Function:
*they serve for creating different sounds
ORAL CAVITY
Characteristic:
includes the lips, vestibule, mouth cavity, gums, teeth, hard and soft palate.
Function:
to initiate the digestive process
TONGUE
Characteristic:
the fleshy muscular organ in the mouth
Function:
*Used for testing, licking, swallowing, and articulating speech.
TEETH
Characteristic:
*small whitish structure found in jaws
Function:
*allowing us to form and to correctly enunciate words and make phonetic sound
JAW
Characteristic
Hard, and one of the strong muscle in our speech organ.
Function:
moving in opposition to each other. Used while eating, chewing, and most importantly give support to our teeth.
VOCAL CORD
Characteristic:
produced sound by vibration
Function:
helps to protect the airway from chocking in the throat and to regulate the flow of air into the lungs.
LARYNX
Characteristic
an organ in humans and animals between the nose and the lungs that contains muscles.
Function:
movement of the muscle to help in creating voice and sound.
SOFT PALATE
Characteristic:
Flexible, strong and thin
Function:
to aid swallowing and breathing by altering the patency of the respiratory and digestive tracts respectively
