GEOLOGICAL RISK AND PREVENTION MECHANISMS
Prevention Mechanisms
Definition
The prevention mechanism depends on the geological risk. Some disasters are very difficult to predict, like the earthquakes and others are easier
PREVENTIONS
For volcano eruption
Protect your eyes with goggles, nose and mouth with a damp mask. Wear clothing that covers most of your body. Cover the food and water you consume to avoid contamination with ash.
For tsunamis
Stay away from coastal areas, Organize an evacuation route that leads to higher ground. Watch for certain signs that warn of the arrival of a tsunami, such as the rapid rise or fall of water on the coast.
For earthquakes
Stay away from windows, glass, cabinets, partitions and objects that can fall and hit you.
Geological risk
We call geological risks to all kind of natural hazards caused by geological conditions
Examples
Earthquakes
Tsunamis
Volcano Eruptions
Mass movements
Floods
