i. What is the great tragedy that all of these amazing castles have in common?
ii. Despite all of the challenges and obstacles that were overcome, as well as all the time and energy spent, and add in the immense planning that took place, in the end, what do they have to show for it?
c. We have all built sandcastles at some point in our lives, but none of us could go back to a specific beach and show it off to us today because it is gone, just like the castles we looked at. Ours were probably washed away within hours of being built.
i. Why do you think you nor the artist who built the sandcastles we just looked at every decorated them with precious stones such as diamonds, rubies, and sapphires?
Jesus uses this similar concept to illustrate a parable on why we should not build something as precious as our lives on something as foolish and unstable as anything other than Him.
Read Matthew 7:24-27
This parable teaches us that there are two types of people. What are they? V24&26 (the wise and the foolish)
What distinguishes the two?
Wise
They do what? (they hear and heed the words of Jesus)
What was Jesus saying that they should hear and heed?

Fruits- tie into the parable of the sower

It's not your works (fruit) that save you, it's a genuine faith that is accompanied by fruit!
In other words, salvation comes through a person, not keeping a set of rules. Jesus says in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
