Private oral schools

At the end of eighth grade, Deaf children are expected to have the spoken and listening skills to be mainstreamed in their neighborhood schools in high school.
Provides intensive speech training within academic programming and dormitory living for elementary schoolchildren.

Mainstream refers to total inclusion while self contained classrooms refers to only for Deaf students.

Coenrollment
There are two instructors, one for the hearing students and another with a deaf education certification.

This model is used internationally, and it includes many Deaf students and hearing students all in one classroom.
Although research shows deaf children lag behind their hearing peers academically it does provide opportunities for Deaf and hearing peer socialization.
