Holds cleaning products, does the ironing, makes food - adheres to stereotypes about gender roles, women are expected to fulfil domestic roles.

She is exploited for sex by Joe (who is her primary 'user'), which highlights issues concerning consent, sexual harassment and the objectification of women.
First seen in a warehouse - representative of working class people who are exploited by those in power and must oblige to the orders of those at the top for survival and stability.
Gender roles - she is maternal (hold Sophie's hand, reads books for her, risks her life for Toby, created to look after Leo).

As a slim, tall blonde woman with blue eyes who is sexualised and objectified, this reinforces the idea that there are beauty standards which women are expected to adhere to.

She is sexually exploited but rejects the objectification that she is subjected to - this highlights issues about rape, sexual harassment etc.
Mattie
Defies the stereotype that teenagers are unengaged with socio-political issues - she is an activist who is concerned about the exploitation of synths (a metaphor for the racial other and the working class) and the objectification of women.
She is highly intelligent and is passionate about computer science - proves that women are capable of existing within a so-called 'man's world'.
Leo

The heroic male - he frees Mia, the damsel in distress, and in this way Humans is conforming to gender stereotypes.
Laura
A highly intelligent and successful woman with a good job - she is the breadwinner and defies gender role stereotypes in this way.
Inspires change in people - she is initially rude and dismissive of Anita (a metaphor for the racial other) but as she challenges her own ignorance and makes an active attempt to understand Anita, she becomes one of the show's heroes and is involved in seeking justice for the synths.
Joe
A white, middle class man who exploits Anita (representative of the racial other and the working classes) and sexually exploits her - represents the establishment.
