Malabsorption due to cystic fibrosis, celiac disease, chronic pancreatitis and crohn's disease.
Some medications such as antibiotics, antacids and antisezures, since antibiotis contains the bacteria that inhibits the production of vitamin k in the small intestine. [ Lee.K 2015]
Management
Dietary intake that is high in vitamin such as leafy green vegetables, dairy products, cereals, vegetable oils and soya beans.

Phytoniodone is prescribed to the patient as oral medication and also as intramuscular injection, the dose for adults is 1-25 mg.
About 10 mg is prescribed to the patient on anticoagulant therapy, so as to avoid interference.
Konakion is administered in newborns(0.5mg -1 mg), if the mother was on anticoagulants and antisezures during pregnancy the a high amount of vitamin k is required to the baby. [Lee.K 2015]

Defination :
It is the insufficience of vitamin k in the blood, which leads to the excessive bleeding and easy bruising. [ Lee.K 2015]
