Causes
Traumatic brain injury- severe brain injury like blow of the head lead to the injury of the thalamus and hippocampus and lead to the amnesia

Stroke, seizures and epilepsy [Gazzaniga. M, Ivry.R & Mangun G, 2009]
Cardiac arrest- the may be temporary insufficient of oxygen supply to the brain of which can lead to retrograde amnesia.

Management
The treatment depends on the underlying causes, it is better to treat underlying causes as Amnesia has no pharmacological treatment.
Occupational therapy- to help develop organizing skills and strategies to ensure that the remember information easily.
Psychotherapy- help those had trauma to memorise things.[ Gazzaniga. M, Ivry.R & Mangun G, 2009]
Defination
It is when someone is able to form new memories but unable to recall the older memories. [ Gazzaniga M, Ivry.R & Mangun G, 2009]
