Cognitive Approach
Definition
Cognitive at its roots means; to learn and understand how people think, learn, and process information.

Teachers who are adept in this field of psychology are able to understand the problems of a student is facing.
At the same time, they can also develop new ways to solve the problem regarding to the issue faced by the student.
The Cognitive Theory, stated by Jean Piaget (1896 - 1980), states that learning is an internal process that takes place in the mind and cannot be directly observed through behavior.
Cognitive psychologists such as Jerome Bruner and Piaget focused the study on various types of learning in the problem-solving process and intellectual literacy according to various ages and student's abilities.
Their learning theories focused on the learning methods such as critical thinking, problem-solving methods, discovery and categorization.
According to this theory, humans have a cognitive structure, and during the process of learning, the brain will organize all the information in students’ memories.
