Method
The Zodiac Killer had two methods of murder, one being stabbing the victim with a knife, the other being shooting the victim with a gun.
When
The Zodiac Killer had five confirmed killings. Two on the 20th of December, 1968, another on the 4th of July, 1969, another on the 27th of September, 1969 and the final one on the 11th of October, 1969.
Where
The Zodiac Killer killer performed all confirmed killing within San Francisco, United states, varying between Urban, Suburban and Rural areas.
Victims
Most of the Zodiac Killers were young couples, with 4 of the 5 confirmed victims being couples between 16 and 22 years of age. One of his victims was a 29 year old, lone male taxi driver.
Nickname
The Zodiac Killer called himself "The Zodiac" in one of his letters, which is the origin of the nickname. Why he called himself the Zodiac Killer is unknown.
Motives
One of the Zodiac Killers motives was that he wanted attention and wanted to be known. In one of his letters he threatened to kill more people if he wasn't on the front page of the newspaper. Another of his motives was that he enjoyed killing. In one of his letters he stated that he kills because he enjoys it, and is more fun than hunting wild game.
