Family
Hana Baba- My mother who has been a journalist at KALW radio for the past couple of decades. She promises to take care of my needs and to guide me through life. She is very supportive in anything I'd like to pursue and goes through any hardships to assist my family.
Sarah Bilal- My sister who has attended Moreau for all four years of high school. She will attend UC Irvine in a couple weeks. She promises to be a positive role model for me throughout my years of growth. She has set a great example for me by being an active member in student government, being part of many clubs and extra activities, and being on top of her work and responsibilities.
Louai Bilal- My father who was a chief of Psychiatry and has built Kaiser Permanente's ECT program. He promises to sacrifice anything necessary for our family, which often includes working long hours to provide for us. When he not spending time with us, he is usually busy with things which will ultimately help our family.
Panini- My cat who we have adopted about two and a half years ago. She promises to always cheer our family up and brighten our days. She always joins us when the family is together and does not cause much problems like other pets. My sister and I agree that Panini can sense when something bad happens or when one of us are sad.
Instructors
Master Park- He was my Tae-kwon-do instructor for six years. He promised to help me improve and move at a pace that was comfortable for me. He has helped me improve in areas that were specific to me, and guided me to become a black belt.
Softball Coaches- They are new Moreau softball coaches, Coach Becky and Coach Matt. They promised to guide me to improve my softball abilities. I was one of the only people new to softball last season and they made me feel as if I were part of the team, and helped me improve on specific things.
Friends
Sara Ayad- She is my childhood friend who now lives in Colorado. She promised to be my companion and that she will visit often. We have met since she left to Colorado about three times and we plan to meet again soon. We would have had an amazing vacation together, however covid interfered.
Brianna Johnson- She is my friend who I met in Kindergarten. We haven't been in the same school or class since Kindergarten yet we have maintained this relationship. However, last Summer we signed up for a Councilor in Training job and had fun together for the first time in a while. Brianna promises to be one of my best friends for life and not to let our friendship fade away. She's done this by making sure we meet every so often.
Places
Sudan- This is the country where my family is from. Sudan promises to forever be a home for my family and I and puts this promise into action by always being welcoming to our family and assuring that we are safe and have a fantastic time with family.
Union City- I've lived in Union City for the past decade. It promises to forever hold memories and continue to raise me. It continues to be a home for my family and I, and we decided to buy a house and settle our family in Union City
Spiritual
Allah- He is my faith's God and promises to forgive us and to guide us through life. He has acted on this by being and my life and restoring faith in my heart.
Mosque- The Mosque is where my family and I pray to Allah and gather for ramadan. The mosque promises to be a home and safe space for prayer for all Muslims. It is a welcoming space to practice traditions and prayer.
