Regina (mom):
My mom has promised me that she will help and provide me with answers. Whether I was struggling with a project or talking about boys, she was there to assist me in creating the best possible outcomes. She always told me to be myself and everything I did would be genuine and without regret.
Rossalyn (ballet teacher):
I have trained with my ballet teacher since the beginning of my ballet career. She has not only promised to make me the best dancer I can be but has also grown me artistically as a human. This was shown at the annual Nutcracker. I had a lead role but always messed up on this one part. Finally, during the show, the training my teacher gave me helped me in finishing the section and creating different movement in order to complete the dance.
Leandro(best friend):
I've known Leandro since I was in kindergarten. He has promised to be present whenever I feel down or need to talk about something. Through a depressing phase I went through from my 8th-grade year all the way until quarantine came to an end, he was there for me every step of the way making sure everything I did would lead me to satisfaction.
Kona(dog):
My dog Kona has made an inadvertent promise to be my company, play with me, or make me feel good in tough times. Although he is a dog, I feel as if he understands exactly what I am going through and gives the right support and love. He has made me feel better when I'm a or calm when I'm angry.
Ariana (younger sister):
Ever since we were little, Ari has always promised that when it feels like there is no one to talk to or hang out with, to count on her to be there. When there are awkward family parties or in uncomfortable situations, I know I am never alone because my little sister would never let me do anything without her.
Charlotte(friend):
Charlotte has pledged to stand up for me no matter what. I've seen this through the eyes of others. She has stood up for me in times when I'm not there and others let me know. A true friend doesn't need the eyes of one to do good; Charlotte is a good friend.
Patrick(dad):
My dad has always guaranteed me that I can do whatever I put my mind to and he will be there to support me. Every night he tells me I'm a queen and makes me repeat it back to him. Not only has this affirmation boosted my self-esteem, but has also given me the confidence and strength to conquer what I want to do and my dad has played a huge role in my decisions.
Maleia (older sister):
Maleia has promised to use all her life experience and lead me towards the right decisions in life. Whenever I need advice on homework, social interactions, or boys, she does the best with her knowledge to steer me towards the right paths.
Kyle(friend):
Kyle is one of my new friends that I've made at Moreau. He has promised to make me laugh and cheer me up whenever I need it. He has done this by noticing when I was in need of his presence and simply being there for me and reminding me of the good.
Dance Team:
I have danced with this team since the beginning of my dance career. Being on this team, we have all made an unintentional promise to push each other through adversity and work to make each of us better. This has been shown through competitions. When one sets the bar, we all climb towards the same goal, creating a cycle of continuous improvement.
Nikho(best friend):
I've known NIkho for almost 12 years. We've been through a lot together and he has promised to be the brother I never had. I talk to him like we're family and although he is younger, he gives wise advice and knows exactly what to say in every situation. He has helped me though most of my social problems, especially those that arose this year.
Kelly (close friend):
Kelly is a close friend that I've known since I was 5 years old. She has vowed to always be there when I need to talk and I can count on her to give me the best and most honest advice. When I needed help on figuring out what I needed to do in a certain life problem, she led me to the right decision and the one that would lead me to the max amount of happiness.
