DeRubeis et al 2005
- Carried out a placebo-controlled trial.
- Compared CBT and drug therapies for treating depression.
- Was as effective.
Cuilpers et al 2013
- Meta-analysis of 75 studies found that CBT was a supieor treatment.
Ellis 1957
- Claimed that REBT was 90% effective
Hollen et al 2005
- Found that those who withdrew from CBT were far less likely to relapse those who withdrew from drug therapy.

Behavioural activation.

Bakyak et al 2000
- Studied adults with depression.
- Randomly assigned participants to a 4 month course of aerobic exercise.
Findings:
- After 6 months those in exercise group had much lower relapse rates than those in the medication group.
- Although all did show some improvement.
Issues:
Therapist Competency.
Essentially, how well trained the therapist is trained.
Basically, CBT is less effective than drug therapies if the therapist lacked experience.
