The School system of Japan got reformed; Education became 6 years of elementary, 3 years of middle school, 3 years of high school, and 4 years of university (first 9 years of education is obligatory)
although there are still some exceptions today, most schools became co-ed.
culture
ban of censorship in movies that Japan had before and during the war. (movies made for good of the nation and its allies, propaganda?? etc.?)
Introduction of US movies to teach Japanese about democracy.

=order to eliminate the Shinto shrine’s strong connection to politics. After this, the Shinto Shrine became a religious symbol/organization in Japan, but it did not have any role in politics.
