The unfair treatment and bias against Asians in Western nations is…
The unfair treatment and bias against Asians in Western nations is unjustified and based on different world views.
How could the barriers between Westerners and Asians be eradicated? How could better relationships be developed?
Lucy- "We are not responsible for the virus". She encouraged others to SPEAK UP against racism and to stand up for other minority groups facing racism (Zdanowicz, 2021)
SHARING STORIES CAN BE REALLY POWERFUL, OTHERWISE PEOPLE DON'T THINK HATE EXISTS. Example: Asian lady who grew up as an Asian in New York. Now working as a social strategy and content coordinator (Aratani, 2021)
Local government have the rights to create ordinate designed to hamstring Asian, owned business . Then the federal government passed the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. A 10 years ban on Chinese workers immigrating to the US today. (JaneC, 2021)
What evidence indicates that Westerners misunderstand Asians? What are the misunderstandings based on?
Many westerners are misunderstanding of Asian , they might think that every yellow skin Asian are come from China. But in fact , it doesn't make sense. Because it is hard to distinguish Chinese. However, many Asian even not come from Asian are also blamed by westerners and different treatment or gazed to Asian when they on the street.
One of the misunderstandings of westerners from Asian is that based on historic experience, back to the day , official quarantined San Francisco's Chinatown convinced that its Asian residents had seeded a bubonic plague outbreak in the early 1900s. I believe this events made many people felt panic and started unbelieve Asian. So in covid-19. Many people might think this horrifying virus is outbreaking from China. As their subconscious tell them there is no doubt that it come all the way of China. (XXXX,)

The Asian worldview....
people from Asian countries like India, Japan or China tend to be more collectivist. These people in more collectivist societies tend to be more ‘holistic’ in the way they think about problems, focusing more on the relationships and the context of the situation at hand.
For instance, imagine that you see a picture of someone tall intimidating someone smaller. Without any additional information, they would think other things might be going on between those people: maybe the big guy is the boss or the father,”
The Western worldview...
people in the West tend to be more individualist. Westerners who tend to live in individualistic societies may emphasis more about their personal choices and freedom.
People in individualistic societies tend to focus on separate elements, and to consider situations as fixed and unchanging.
For example, imagine that you see a picture of someone tall intimidating someone smaller. Without any additional information, Westerners are more likely to think this behavior reflects something essential and fixed about the big man: he is probably a nasty person.
The children of immigrants had started to adopt some elements of the more individualistic outlook, and less holistic cognitive styles.

Conclusion: Was your hypothesis correct? What recommendations would you make to solve this problem, based on what you read?
Set up opportunities for people to tell their stories. For example, having debates regularly in community spaces. In HK, there are debates in public places like parks every Sunday. People come and listen and add their ideas and thoughts and stories. This would catch the adults who need to hear this information.
Have anti-racism facebook group or social media to help teenagers have new understanding. Many teenagers have experiences, and they are more likely to use social media than older people This kind of platform could help them bond and learn about each other. This would be better than just a website because it would be interactive. They wouldn't just read about it.
