Primary Sources
Primary sources are informations gathered when the event happened, they are the most trustworthy information source because they won’t be affect by bias from different people.
Primary Sources Include
A speech from someone attending a presentation/party.
Photographs taken when the event happened.
Journals and dairies written by someone that was there.
Government publications about an announcement or something.
Autobiographies and memories of someone.
The videos about what the event actually happened/is about.
Teritiary
example
Tertiary sources of information are based on a collection of primary and secondary sources. Examples of tertiary sources include:
textbooks (sometimes considered as secondary sources)
dictionaries and encyclopedias
manuals, guidebooks, directories, almanacs
indexes and bibliographies
These are sources that index, abstract, organize, compile, or digest other sources. Some reference materials and textbooks are considered tertiary sources when their chief purpose is to list, summarize or simply repackage ideas or other information. Tertiary sources are usually not credited to a particular author.
Secondary sources are a step removed from primary sources. Essentially, they’re sources about primary sources.
Secondary sources include:
Essays analyzing novels, works of art, and other original creations
Textbook passages discussing specific concepts, events, and experiments
Books about specific events, concepts, movements, and works
Critical works by academics and professional critics (e.g., a film critic’s review of a movie)
Biographies of historical and famous people
Political commentary
For example, the text of a president’s speech is a primary source, while a political commentator’s column discussing that speech is a secondary source.
